Florida drivers can expect to see relatively stable gas prices this Independence Day despite a slight increase of 2 cents per gallon over the past week.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the state is $3.36, down from $3.46 a month ago but slightly higher than $3.34 last week. This trend aligns with the national average of $3.49 per gallon.

“Although we have seen some price swings in recent weeks, it’s not likely significant enough to impact people’s travel plans,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said in a prepared statement. “Oil prices have flattened out, which should limit any significant jumps at the pump in the coming days.”

Florida is expected to see a surge in travel, with nearly 4.5 million residents venturing over 50 miles – up from 4.2 million last year. This increase in demand typically pushes prices upward, but fortunately, it seems offset by the stabilizing oil market.pen_spark
