Florida gas prices experienced a rollercoaster ride last week, ultimately settling at an average of $3.13 per gallon on Sunday. This represents a 2-cent increase from the previous week, despite a mid-week dip to $3.02.

The recent price fluctuations are attributed to shifts in the oil market. Oil prices dropped 5% last week, closing at $67.02 per barrel on Friday.

This decline, coupled with concerns about demand and potential slowdowns in U.S. interest rate cuts, also led to a decrease in gasoline futures.

Here’s a quick comparison:

  • Current average: $3.13 per gallon
  • Week ago: $3.11 per gallon
  • Month ago: $3.10 per gallon
  • Year ago: $3.08 per gallon
