PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - UPDATE: REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED TUESDAY AFTERNOON. ALL VACCINE SPOTS FILLED. After a rough start to the vaccine registration
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – UPDATE: REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED TUESDAY AFTERNOON. ALL VACCINE SPOTS FILLED. After a rough start to the vaccine registration rollout on Monday, the Florida Department of Health Pinellas County has updated the plan for registration.
“To simplify the COVID-19 vaccination process, the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County has created a temporary registration method that we will use until our permanent solution is brought online,” Florida DOH Pinellas said in a statement.
People aged 65 years or older can call (727) 824-6900 and select Option 4 or call (727) 824-6931. From there, an operator will ask for specific information including name, phone number and date of birth.
The operator will then work with callers to get them scheduled for a date, time, and location for their first dose of vaccine.
Please note that due to high call volume, wait times may be longer than expected.
However, people who were able to register online yesterday will have their appointments honored.
Please note that anyone who has made an appointment through the fraudulent Eventbrite site does not have a valid reservation for a vaccination at the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County. However, schedulers will work with those individuals to get them onto the schedule.
“Again, we apologize for the inconvenience that the initial rollout has caused, and we thank you for your patience. It is our mission to get these COVID-19 vaccines out as quickly and orderly as possible,” said Florida DOH.
