A 32-year-old Florida man has been charged with battery after deputies say he grabbed two women and intimidated two others as they were walking in a government complex shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Jonas Charles, 32, randomly grabbed women in the Collier County Government Center.
Investigators say the first female victim told deputies that Charles grabbed her by the shoulders and midsection as she was walking away from a parking area in the complex.
According to deputies, the woman pushed him and called a co-worker for help. He then approached a second woman and began circling very close around her, causing her to fear for her safety.
She pushed him away and shouted at him. He then quickly approached a third woman and grabbed her shoulder from behind her.
As she broke away and fled, Charles, circled a fourth woman and then stood in front of her in a blocking attempt as she tried to walk past him.
Deputies quickly located Charles nearby in the government complex and placed him under arrest.
Detectives believe Charles is homeless. Charles is charged with two counts of battery. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
