BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Brooksville man was killed in a crash that happened on Tuesday around 3:10 pm, according to investigators.
According to Florida Highway Patro, a Hyundai Elantra was traveling westbound on Cortez Boulevard when, just east of Grove Road, the driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the vehicle.
Troopers say the vehicle departed the roadway and collided with a building located at 14442 Cortez Boulevard before colliding with a trailer attached to an unoccupied pickup truck at the same location.

The vehicle continued to stop after colliding with a tree.
Troopers say the driver, a 57-year-old Brooksville man, was transported to an area hospital and later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
