BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A 74-year-old Brooksville man tragically died on Saturday, around 11:00 am, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man, driving a golf cart, was traveling westbound on a golf cart access path near Meetinghouse Lane when the operator suffered a medical emergency. 

The 74-year-old Brooksville man departed the golf cart path, struck a tree, and ejected the man into a nearby pond.

Troopers say the man died at the scene.
