We must be coming up on an election year.
Because the liberal media is suddenly kicking into overdrive to make us forget the Democrats’ draconian COVID-19 policies.
In the past week, the left-wing media has reported on medical studies that showed naturally acquired immunity to the virus was a better defense than any vaccine on the market.
The media also picked up on a second study that revealed, as The Free Press reported earlier this month, face masks “probably made little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness or COVID-19-like illness compared to not wearing masks.”
In Florida, that prompted one question from Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ team: “Where does @GovRonDeSantis get his apology?”

That was the topic of a tweet by Christina Pushaw, spokeswoman for DeSantis’ re-election campaign last year.
Pushaw was commenting on a piece by New York Times Bret Stephens, a left-leaning Republican, who had written about the British study on masks.
“Today, the New York Times published a Forbidden Fact,” Pushaw tweeted. “It only took them THREE YEARS. Now, where does @GovRonDeSantis get his apology?”
Pushaw then added, “Ah well, the conclusion of the NY Times article answers my question.”
She included a screenshot of part of Stephens’ column, in which he noted that liberal pro-maskers would likely argue that face coverings “seemed like a relatively low-cost, intuitively effective way of doing something.”
Stephens added, “But ‘do something’ is not science, and it shouldn’t have been public policy.”
Stephens concluded, “They may never get the apology they deserve, but vindication ought to be enough.”
Not for some.

In an interview with Fox News, DeSantis’ spokesman, Bryan Griffin, noted that liberals may be giving up the old narrative, but they do grudgingly because it means admitting DeSantis was correct.
“Florida leads, and three years later the media and medical establishment reluctantly follow. Thanks to Governor DeSantis, Florida came to this conclusion about mask mandates early in the pandemic, and never allowed vaccine mandates or passports to have a foothold,” Griffin told Fox News.
“If the media are now acknowledging the errors of their own narrative, it is obvious that they do so reluctantly,” Griffin told Fox News.
“In Florida, we will not let the media or the biomedical security state have the chance to downplay their harms and do this to the public again,” he added.
Griffin noted that his boss has already announced efforts to prohibit mask mandates and vaccine passports, and shield unvaccinated residents and those doctors who disagree with the “biomedical security state.”
Meanwhile, Fox News noted that DeSantis was criticizing the Biden administration for ignoring the potency of natural immunity more than a year ago.
Pushaw tweeted about this on Tuesday, a few days after NBC News reported on the effects of natural immunity.
“Another person who deserves an apology is @FLSurgeonGen [Dr. Joseph Ladapo],” she tweeted.

“Everything he has said that was so ‘controversial’ at the time has been FULLY vindicated, and I have no doubt that what he’s saying now will also be.”
Pushaw, in that latter comment, may have been referring to Ladapo’s recommendation that young healthy men between 18 and 40 skip the COVID vaccine because of the elevated risk of possibly fatal heart disease.
Earlier this week, The Free Press reported that Dr. Marty Makary, a prominent public health expert at Johns Hopkins University, had seconded Ladapo’s position after a recently released study by Cedars Sinai Medical Center in California.
