SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Pete Police have arrested 26-year-old James A. Chin in the stabbing and shooting death of 29-year-old Mitchell William Collins.
Collins and Chin were friends but got into a physical altercation at Collins’ residence at 3535 4th Ave S. on Wednesday.
During the fight Chin stabbed Collins. When the victim fled the apartment, Chin followed him and shot him.
Collins was transported to Bayfront Health, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
