LARGO, FL. – A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle around 6:00 a.m. Monday in Largo.

According to officials, the Largo Police Department officers responded to the area of NB Starkey Rd south of East Bay Dr. about a vehicle vs. bicyclist accident.

Largo Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced the adult male bicyclist as deceased. 

The Largo Police Departments Traffic Homicide Unit responded and is actively conducting the investigation. Police say the vehicle involved stayed on the scene, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Investigators say the bicycle did not have any rear lights and the investigation is still ongoing.
