LAKELAND, Fla. – A 44-year-old Lakeland Man was killed early Tuesday morning in a single vehicle crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was traveling westbound in a pickup truck on I-4 in the inside lane near milepost 34, when he lost control of the vehicle after suffering a medical emergency.

The pickup truck departed the roadway, entered the median, and collided with the cable barriers.

The man was transported to an area hospital, but later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers say the man was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred around 6:52 AM Tuesday.
