Teen Found Dead From Upper Body Trauma Outside of Tampa Duplex

TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide involving a teen overnight.

Deputies day that just before 9 p.m., while working an unrelated call near the intersection of E 124th Avenue and N 9th Street in the University area of Tampa, deputies were alerted to a victim, believed to be a black male teenager, lying outside a duplex.

He appeared to have suffered from upper-body trauma. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Individuals in the area at the time of the incident are being interviewed by detectives and are being cooperative. Detectives are still working to confirm the identity of the victim.

“It’s always tragic when a young life is taken too soon, especially due to a senseless act of violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident with information that could help solve this case to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.”
