LITHIA, Fla.- The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred on the 15000 block of Starling Water Drive in Lithia earlier Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:56 p.m. on November 24, 2020, the HCSO communications bureau received a 911 call from a man, in his 20s, who stated that an adult relative threatened him with a gun. The caller said he was in fear for his life, so he retrieved his own weapon and shot the male relative multiple times. Deputies found the relative deceased when they arrived on scene at the home. At this time, deputies believe the shooting is domestic-related, and there is no threat to the public.

“I am heartbroken for this family who is dealing with so much tragedy just two days before Thanksgiving,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The shooter is cooperating with deputies, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Deputies are conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the home. No arrests have been made at this stage in the investigation.
