CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic collision occurred on Saturday at the intersection of Dixieland Street and US 19 in Homosassa around 1:12 pm.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 79-year-old Brooksville man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to yield and was struck by a northbound Nissan Altima driven by a 51-year-old Homosassa woman.

Both drivers were transported to local hospitals, where the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries.

A 69-year-old Brooksville woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle also tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash.
