Florida Marijuana Legalization Effort Gets $11M Boost, Mostly From Trulieve

Smart & Safe Florida, a political committee backing a constitutional amendment to legalize recreational marijuana, raised $11 million recently, with $10 million from Trulieve.

This brings their total fundraising to over $82 million, mostly from Trulieve. Another marijuana company, Verano Holdings, has also contributed $3.5 million.

The committee has spent $56.9 million so far.

The amendment, on the ballot as Amendment 3, would allow adults to use marijuana recreationally. Florida previously legalized medical marijuana in 2016.
