SPRING HILL, Fla. – Emily Sashel Morales, 19, was arrested after a violent confrontation at her ex-boyfriend’s residence on Maderia Street in Spring Hill on July 31, 2024.

Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported stabbing around 9 p.m. and found Sydney McKelvy, 22, with a stab wound to the chest. McKelvy, who is currently dating Morales’ ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Hildebrandt, Jr., was transported to a local trauma center for surgery.

Hildebrandt told deputies that Morales arrived unannounced at his home and became confrontational with McKelvy. Morales then allegedly stabbed McKelvy with a pocket knife and attempted to stab Hildebrandt before fleeing the scene.

Deputies apprehended Morales at her residence on Twin Lake Avenue. She admitted to confronting McKelvy and stabbing her, claiming self-defense.

Morales has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is currently held on a $5,000 bond.
