Joseph Roy Vigneault, 21, of Lake Isabella, has been sentenced to 17 months in federal prison for distributing explosives to an unlicensed individual. The sentence, handed down by U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert, follows Vigneault’s guilty plea in May 2023.
According to court documents, Vigneault and his co-defendant, Michael Roy Anglin, 22, of Wofford Heights, sold and delivered over 350 pounds of stolen Hydromite 880 explosives to an unlicensed person in May 2023.

The explosives were confirmed to have been stolen from a licensed distributor’s storage facility in Lake Isabella.
Vigneault’s actions not only violated federal law but also posed a significant risk to public safety. The unauthorized distribution of explosives can have devastating consequences, making this a serious offense.
In addition to the prison sentence, Vigneault has been ordered to pay $7,603 in restitution to the distributor for the value of the unrecovered explosives.

Anglin, who also pleaded guilty to the charges, is scheduled for sentencing on October 21, 2024, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
