PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 51-year-old Lutz man was killed in a crash that happened around 6:42 am on Monday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a garbage truck operated by Waste Management was traveling westbound in the left turn lane on SR-54. 

Troopers say at the intersection of Monmouth Drive, the Waste Management truck turned left into the path of and was struck by a motorcycle.

The rider, a 51-year-old Lutz man, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. 

The truck driver, a 35-year-old Spring Hill man, was not injured during the incident.
