ST. PETERSBURG. Fla. – A 13-year-old boy is dead, and a motorcyclist is hospitalized after a crash that happened overnight in St. Pete.

At approximately 12:35 a.m., a motorcycle going southbound on 28th Street North hit a pedestrian near 110th Avenue North.

Police say the pedestrian, a 13-year-old boy, died from his injuries.

The motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

28th Street remained closed between 102nd Avenue North to 118th Avenue North for several hours for the investigation.
