TAMPA, Fla. – The CDC has changed its COVID-19 guidelines again and reverted to what feels like the original guidelines from March.
“Not everyone needs to be tested. If you do get tested, you should self-quarantine/isolate at home pending test results and follow the advice of your health care provider or a public health professional,” said the CDC.
The updated CDC guidelines say if someone has symptoms and they’re mild, a health care provider “may advise a COVID-19 test,” and if symptoms are severe, people should contact a health care provider or seek emergency or professional care.”
The CDC is also no longer recommending that U.S. travelers returning from a trip outside their state or country to self-quarantine for 14-days.
The CDC Website Says:
Considerations for who should get tested
- People who have symptoms of COVID-19
- People who have had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with someone with confirmed COVID-19
- People who have been asked or referred to get testing by their healthcare provider, local or state health department.
