A Sheriff’s Deputy is being hailed the “Dog Rescuer” after a small pooch fell into a Florida canal and was unable to get out on his own.

On Sunday, March 13, Deputy Michael Soto responded to Jasmine Road in Lehigh Acres after learning a dog named Sadie fell into a canal and couldn’t get herself out.

Deputy Soto climbed down into the canal bank to rescue Sadie.

He carried her back up from the water and onto flat land. Thankfully, Sadie appeared to be in good health and was ready for her walk.

“Deputy Michael Soto, the dog rescuer,” said Lee County Sheriff’s Office in a social post.
