HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Following a six-month investigation, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested eight individuals involved in a drug trafficking operation.
The investigation focused on the activities of Alphonso Guice, 46, a seven-time convicted felon, and a residence on the 700 block of South 51st Street. Detectives suspected the location was being used to distribute large quantities of drugs, including cannabinoids, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
On October 24th, detectives executed a search warrant at the residence, uncovering a significant drug operation. They seized 27 pounds of cannabinoids, an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and various structures used for drug activity.

“The commitment these deputies and detectives have to keep this criminal activity out of our community is commendable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “For six months, teamHCSO investigated this group, unearthing their operation and successfully executed a safe arrest of these dangerous individuals.”
Charges Filed
The following individuals were arrested and face a range of charges:
- Alphonso Guice: Armed Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Trafficking in Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Keeping a Public Nuisance Structure for Drug Activity, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
- Kevin Lindsay: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
- Sandra Newman: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
- Neyshmarie Betancourt: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Donthea Bisbee: Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
- Frederick Flowers: Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Karen Warren: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
- Kenneth Downs: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The investigation is ongoing.
