ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 73-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in St. Petersburg on Sunday.

Investigators say the man was headed east on Gandy Blvd North near the 275 exit ramp.

Police say the man suffered a medical episode, lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a Honda Civic.

He was transported to the hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

No one else was injured. The roadway was closed to traffic for several hours.

The victim’s name will be released once next of kin is notified.
