ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – At around 3:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, a gold 2011 Chevrolet Impala was involved in a deadly, single-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of 58th Street and 22nd Avenue North.

The Chevrolet was traveling southbound on 58th Street North approaching  22nd Avenue North. The vehicle went through the intersection, left the road for an unknown reason, and struck a utility pole.

The driver and sole occupant, a 66-year-old woman of St. Petersburg, was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation remains underway, according to police.

The crash led to the closure of 58th Street North at 22nd Avenue North for several hours. Since then all lanes have reopened with the exception of southbound lanes of 58th Street North south of the intersection.
