HERNANDO COUNTY, FL. – A 61-year-old Weeki Wachee man is in critical condition after an SUV he was driving plunged over a seawall and into the water Wednesday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling eastbound on Darlene Street, east of Algonquin Street, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Troopers say the SUV continued eastbound through a yard on Darlene Street and over a seawall where it became submerged.

The passenger, a 59-year-old Brooksville man suffered no injuries in the crash.
