SAN FRANCISCO, CA. – San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery in Union Square on Saturday. San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin’s office confirmed the incident, stating that Pearsall is in stable condition and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The San Francisco Police Department reported that the suspect attempted to rob Pearsall, leading to a physical altercation. During the struggle, the suspect was also shot with their own gun. Both Pearsall and the suspect were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

No formal charges have been filed against the suspect, who is currently in police custody.

Following the incident, Mayor London Breed expressed her support for Pearsall in a statement, saying, “I’m sending my best wishes to 49ers WR and Arizona alum, Ricky Pearsall, for a quick recovery.”

The 49ers selected Pearsall in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
