HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Ruskin man was killed Friday evening in a crash on I-75 around 7:20 PM Friday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Ruskin man, driving a pickup
truck, was traveling northbound in the outside lane of I-75 near mile marker 252. A dump truck was traveling northbound along the outside shoulder of I-75.

The dump truck attempted to merge into the outside lane and entered the path of pickup truck.

The front of the pickup truck collided with the rear of the dump truck, then rotated and collided with the trailer towed by a motor home.

All other drivers and passengers involved suffered minor injuries. The Ruskin man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

Portions of I-75 were closed until 11:00 PM on Friday.
