22-Year-Old Tampa Woman Dies in Horrific Crash, Dropping 20-Feet into Pond

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – A 22-year-old Tampa woman lost her life early Friday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the woman was traveling southbound on East Lake Road, south of Trinity Boulevard when she somehow lost control of the vehicle.

FHP says that her car rotated onto the grass shoulder, struck a sewer air release valve, and then collided with a handrail before dropping 20 feet into an adjacent pond.

The woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
