CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash that happened around 3:15 AM Monday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling westbound on West Fort Island Trail, negotiating a left curve in the roadway three miles east of West Waterwood Drive.

Troopers say she lost control of the car which departed the roadway, entered the north shoulder, overturned multiple times, and collided with a tree.

The woman was transported to an area hospital but later died from injuries suffered during the crash.

The passenger in the car, a 20-year-old woman from Beverly Hills, suffered only minor injuries.
