The U.S. Department of State has announced a reward of up to $2.5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Volodymyr Kadariya, a Belarusian national wanted for his alleged involvement in a major malware operation.

Kadariya is accused of participating in a scheme that spread the Angler Exploit Kit (AEK), other malware, and online scams to millions of internet users through malicious advertising and other means from 2013 to 2022. The AEK was a primary tool used by cybercriminals to infect computers and steal data.

In June 2023, Kadariya was indicted in New Jersey on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and computer fraud.

The reward is offered under the State Department’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program, which aims to combat international crime and bring fugitives to justice.

Anyone with information on Kadariya’s whereabouts is urged to contact the U.S. Secret Service. All identities will be kept strictly confidential.
