A boxing match turned deadly overnight when someone at the event opened fire, shooting five people and killing one of them.

According to police, around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting at the Skyway Plaza, 1079 62 Avenue South.

Investigators say that a temporary outdoor boxing ring was set up in the back parking lot of the building.

Police say approximately 200 people were attending the boxing event when an altercation between two groups occurred and several shots were fired.

Investigators say that one man died of his injuries at the hospital. Four other people, two men, and two women also suffered gunshot injuries.
